Learning how to make money online is easy. After all there are plenty of training courses out there that will take you step by step through the process. The truth is other than the ones that quote how you will make thousands overnight, some of the courses do have the fundamentals that will give you a good solid foundation to make money online.

Set up your blog. Blogger.com is great for beginners I would highly recommend. Once the blog is set up choose an effective theme for your topic.

Step three

Populate your blog with content. If you selected a topic that reflects your passion, this will be easy. If you selected a topic that will make you money and you don't know much about your subject, search article directories such as Ezine and Goarticles for articles covering your topic. Most will allow you to republish their content as long as you keep the original author's links intact. Ensure that the blog is informative and concise. People generally want to digest 250-500 words at a time.

Step four

Arrange for adverts to be displayed on your blog, Google AdSense is a great way to make money, you receive a payment every time a person clicks on one of these adverts, which are displayed on your blog. The Internet. Ahhh, can anyone really imagine a world without it today? And yet, it was only a few short decades ago that the online community consisted of mainly academics and government folks. Now, everything imaginable is available online and a large percentage of people spend several hours every day surfing the web.

Different ways to get a share of the profits available to innovative entrepreneurs have been developed for those who want to make money online and the choices available are staggering and somewhat confusing. Some have great potential while others are simply thinly disguised scams. Here is where I come in.

Who am I? Well, if you are just starting the process of finding out how to make money online, I was you 4 months ago. I am a teacher (Mathematics) and have been for the past 25 years. I have taken this year off to see if I can successfully start an Internet venture and begin to make serious money online. I knew I would need to spend some "startup" money, but I wanted to keep this to a minimum at first in order to see what was working and what wasn't. Here is where I can save you big money by recommending the best resources I have found.

When I started out, I was absolutely overwhelmed by the choices available and when I read the sales copy of each product or book it seemed as if I had to own every single one of them in order to be successful. I got so tired reading through the bonuses I would get and how I would become a millionaire in a short time. Obviously, it would not be that easy but I knew that there were products and resources out there that I could and would use to become successful.

Well, I bought as many as I could on a trial basis (and cancelled many in the first 30 days), joined several forums for a wealth of advice and after 4 months I now have the tools necessary. This series of articles will distill down to a few pages what it has taken me 4 months to learn. It is the result of having spent 10-12 hours every day researching products and then reading about and using many of them until I now have a core set of products and resources with which to be successful in this internet business opportunity and start making money online. Today I am going to recommend 2 books that cover an area in which most online marketers are extensively involved; namely the Google AdWords and AdSense ad programs.

The first of my recommendations is The Definitive Guide to Google AdWords by Perry Marshall. Anyone involved in Internet Marketing needs to thoroughly understand Google AdWords if they want to be successful. It is that important and answers one of the top questions you have to consider; what is the fastest way to drive traffic to my site? This is the granddaddy of all AdWord books and gives the best in-depth discussion of the Pay-Per-Click (PPC) model that I have discovered. In addition, I have found the extensive follow up emails to be a great source of information. Marshall takes you from beginner to expert in less than 200 pages and he keeps the text crisp and readable. Of all the books that have been written about AdWords, this would be my #1 pick.

My second recommendation is AdWords Miracle by Chris McNeeney. McNeeney makes the bold assertion that he can teach anyone to get to the point where they can leave their regular job, just by using AdWords and the pay-per-click model of advertising. He is very specific and this points out the main difference between this book and Marshall's "Definitive Guide". AdWords Miracle is all about using AdWords while selling ClickBank products, while Marshall's book covers more general ground. It is a terrific read, and compliments the "Definitive Guide" very nicely. As this topic is so important for anything we will be doing, you can't go wrong reading both books. I did.

How do you make money online?

There are ways to make money online fast, and there are ways to profit slowly.

Making money online fast isn't necessarily any better, it just depends on your goals.

The get rich quick projects are not as quick as most people would like. However with the right training and effort they can be. So if you want to learn how to make money online, there are a few ways to do so.

Affiliates

The first way we will introduce is the selling direct sales, or direct affiliate commission. This kind of income will be earned income, as opposed to setting up systems that will eventually work for you so you don't have to.

If you want to make money online, you can find a good affiliate program that pays well has a good commission, and is currently paying members. You can check ClickBank.com or a similar site such as cj.com or linkshare.com.

If you take some extra time you can develop your own product. Interview someone who's an expert in something, whether it's gardening or running, or fishing, you should be able to find someone that you can interview to create your own product.

This can be time consuming, however, the advantage is, if you take the time to learn how to create the pages that will do the selling for you, you can get affiliates who will promote the product for you.

Regardless of what you choose, you need a way to do promotion. Forums related to your topic are most likely the best bet for someone with limited knowledge and experience and money. This means you are visiting forums about your topic, you are signing up, you are verifying your email address, you are changing your signature to include your affiliate link (where rules allow) if rules do not allow affiliate links, you are creating a blog (free at a site like wordpress.com or blogger.com), and putting your blog link up there instead, and your blog link will do the selling and contain the affiliate link.

The more forums you do this at the better.

Now you actually have to interact with in the forum. Every post you make will be another link back to your site. So you should make lots of small little posts if allowed, and perhaps post a few high quality ones that you hope will be viewed often.

You should also consider doing Google searches for popular searched term plus the word forum or message board, and see what comes up.

You should not expect many sales, but if you get 500 views you might get 100 people to click through to your link, and maybe 2 will buy. That may not seem like much, but keep in mind that there are around a billion people in the world that have at one point used the internet. If you can get enough popular forums linking to you, and enough people see your offer, you will get sales.

In order to make money online  you need to have someone that will pay you money for something, that you can provide. Affiliate marketing requires that you find someone who wants to be provided with sales, and if you get sales, you get paid. So the process involves matching up a potential buyer with a business and getting rewarded for it.
